You are someone who can never be replaced Kelly. Your presence will always live on at Baseball Factory. You will be dearly missed. Thanks for being such a great leader and good friend over all these years.
I put in a call to Kelly just 10 minutes ago before this memo. I am in shock.
He was wonderful, helpful, professional and will be greatly missed I know by all of you, but also by all of the boys and families across the nation who he has has helped and encouraged in the game of baseball and life. We are so sorry for your loss and we will pray for his family.
Kelly, you were one of a kind. You touched so many lives and had such a great impact on mine. I thank you for all that you shared with me and others. You will be missed. I am honored I had the pleasure of working with you for the past three and a half years. RIP.
As a former player of Coach K, it is sad to hear the news. He was always always there through the tough times when you needed him most. Coach K was a great man and a great asset to baseball in the DC area for many years.
I was fortunate enough to play under Coach K at Maryland, and he was one of the best coaches I ever had. He really took the time to get to know his players and his dedication to the game was unmatched. I am heartbroken for his family, and they are in my constant prayers right now.
Kelly, you will be missed by so many. Your dedication to your work was unmatched and you made a difference in so many lives. I always enjoyed catching up with you when I was in the office...You always made a point of saying hello. I am so happy I have had the opportunity to work with you. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Kell, you are a true role model to all of us. You showed all of us young bucks at the Baseball Factory how to be a man. Your dedication to your wife, your family and your work was and is a guiding light to all of us. The impact you have made on the lives of so many people can not be measured. I only wish that I would have told you this while you were still with us. Take care my friend, I will miss you.

I had to honor of meeting Kelly when my son played in the 2009 Under Armour Southeast Tournament.
He was a very professional person, and when I got to meet with him, he was the nicest guy.
Very informative and very encouraging. He had alot of wonderful things to say about my son and gave me alot of pointers of what to do and not to do as a parent. I enjoyed that, he really made me laugh.
I am so stunned by his sudden passing, but my prayers go to his family. To help keep them strong during the very difficult time in their lives.
Having known Kelly for almost eight years now, the news comes as such a shock. Kelly's inspiration will live on at Baseball Factory and with all of the players, parents, coaches, friends and family that he touched throughout his life. You couldn't know Kelly without realizing how much he cared for you and your well being. He loved helping people and had a passion for what he did at Baseball Factory. What an incredible soul and I will forever be a better person for having had the chance to learn from Kelly.
WOW I and my son Bill are in total SHOCK. As a parent of a player who is in the Exclusive program, The Baseball Factory had the right man for the job as the head of the program. You could always tell when you talked with him in person or on the phone he cared about your son and his progress as a player and helping him reach his goal to get into college and play at the next level. Our prayers go out to his Wife and Children and to all those in the Baseball Factory Family.
Wow this is a shock. I have known the Kulina family for over 20 years from back in PA and Kelly was such a great person. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone at this time
Kelly, you were the best man. I will never forget the things I learned from you and your passion for the game. If I can touch half the lives that you have, I will consider myself a lucky man. - Dave Lanier
Over the past 5 years, we have worked hand in hand from interacting to college coaches to student athletes all over the country. You have taught me more than I can explain in words and can only hope to keep up my end of bargain going forward. You will never be forgotten on how to live your life as a positive role model on or off the field. Perk
God Bless you my friend. We spent alot of years playing baseball together.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Kelly's wife, children, and his Baseball Factory family. We are in a state of shock and our hearts are full of sadness. Kelly will be missed by many. May God's love and comforting spirit embrace his family in this time off sorrow.
Kelly was all around, the nicest person I've ever met. He would always greet someone, no matter who they were, with a firm hand shake and a hearty smile. I just saw him and spoke with him only two weeks ago. This kind of loss makes you really think about how valuable life really is. I will never forget the lessons that Kelly has taught me over the past two years and will never forget his consistent reassurance throughout this difficult process. He has touched so many people throughout the country, and I was extremely lucky to have the pleasure of knowing him. You will be greatly missed, and I hope that you're in a better place.-Benjamin Chu
What a great man. We'll miss you coach K. Craig M
This is dedicated for you Kelly...You were, out of all the people that know I am alone here, the one that helped me the most and the one that could made me understand how to organize my life and how to improve every skill that I have, you were a very important person in my life and someone that I will never forget. I talked already to my Mom and she is very sad and sorry, I remember she used to tell me that, even that she doesnt speak english, she used to understand everything you say haha, but you and me know that she could never understand the part about the mountains and the beaches haha, I still own you that and hopefully one that I get to see you again Kelly. I remember you used to say that I could get to any college I want, and now its my turn to show you how right you were, I know your next to God right now, and that your going to be following my progress. Thanks for everything you did for me man and even that I'm crying right now for you, I thank God that someone like you was in my life time enough to show me what is important in life. I love you Kelly and my mom, my dad, and me pray for you...rest in peace.
The Miller Family
I tried to call Kelly a couple of times today to let him know my son Chad had received his first D-1 offer. My family and I can not tell you all how shocked we are.
Kelly was a guest in my home earlier this year and I consider him and the rest of the Baseball Factory part of our family.

My son is one of the players in the Exclusive Program. We had the opportunity to hear Kelly speak on several occasions in different cities. He was a true Professional and genuinly cared for all his players. He was one of the main reasons we joined the program. He will be greatly missed by his players and by the game. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and the rest of our BaseBall Factory Family.
Neftali Rodriguez Jr.
Coach K. I am grateful you gave me the opportunity to play for you, you were a great man. Brono
I am in total shock in reading of Coach K's untimely death. He was one of the good guys. Trae and our entire family had so much respect for him as a person first and a tremendous member of the Factory team. He was always so willing to listen and help in any way possible. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Factory team and Coach K's family in this very difficult time. Thanks Kelly for all the positive influences you had on so many young mens lives. That I believe will be your legacy.
Hi kelly.... God was needing his best man in the roster and called you... I just can say, thanks buddy, thanks you very much for all you did while playing for our team, here in this planet, for my son and for hundreds of other litle guys and their dreams. It is going to be very hard to replace you. Hope God give you a bigger challenge.... I know you will make it as usual. see you my friend (still is pending our trip to watch the beaches and the mountains....)
"When someone is in our life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need we have expressed. They have come to assist us through a difficulty, to provide us with guidance and support, to aid us physically, emotionally or spitually. They may seem like a god send and they are. They are here for the reason we needed them to be. Then without warning they are gone. What we must realizze is our needs have been met, our desires fulfilled thier work is done. The prayer we sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on." "Some people are in our lives for a SEASON, because it is our turn to share grow and learn. They bring us peace and make us laugh. They may teach us something we have never done. They give us an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real, but only for a season."
"Lifetime relationsships teach you lifetime lessons, things we must build upon to have a solid foundation. Our job is to except the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant." Thank you Kelly for being all of that, REASON, SEASON and a LIFETIME FRIEND. Chad Miller
Kelly was not only a friend, but a mentor. He helped me grow into the person that I am today passing along his lifetime of knowledge. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and all that knew him. Kelly was truly a special person and his positive impact he had will continue to live on.
It is with great sorrow to hear of Kelly’s sudden passing. The Kulina family and all at the Baseball Factory are in our thoughts and prayers.
Mark Geibig
Thank You for giving me the opportunity to play baseball in the ACC. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. BPatenaude
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Kulina Family as well as the family at the Baseball Factory. The family feel is one of the things that impressed us about the exculsive program and Kelly was a huge part of that. He believed I could play college baseball and was dedicated to helping me make my dream become a reality. Kelly has left his mark on many young players like myself and I am a better ball player and person for having known him. Parker Hills and Family. Proverbs 3:5
When remembering Kelly, there are so many things that bring a smile to my face - his fist bumps every morning, helping him find the fields in Florida, trying to keep his speeches within a reasonable time limit - but knowing how many lives he has touched in his lifetime surpasses them all.
Thank you for everything! You are irreplaceable and I will miss you every day!
I have worked with Kelly for 7 years now. He was always upbeat and loved his job and helping players and families. Every time I would speak with him in his office, I knew there was a possibility that I would end up talking to him for a good half an hour (even though i may have wanted a quick one minute answer to an easy question!)...so I would often sit on the couch in his office and just listen--as he was usually the one who did most of the talking :)
I can honestly say that every time I left his office after these talks, I always felt upbeat and glad that we spoke. He truly cared about what he did and the families he helped and that resonated in every conversation I had with him...you could literally see the excitement in his voice and in his expressions as he talked about his players. I will miss going into his office and I will miss that excitement and joy in his voice and in his actions, but I certainly will not forget it. We will all miss you Kel.
Kelly...you were a great man, a great employee and someone that I will never forget. The number of my players that you have helped over the years is immense. You always had time for everyone despite there only being 24 hours in a day and always having a large number of players/families to service. More than that, you always seemed to have an energy that never seemed to be matched. Every time I saw you, you had a smile on your face and always treated every co-worker with love and respect. I'm sure that you were equally a great husband and father. Kelly, you will be missed. The ache in my heart at your untimely loss will never leave me.
COACH, you left us too soon. Your energy & wisdom will be sorely missed, but your legacy will live on at The Factory forever.
We worked with Kelly for many years at the Factory. He was a straight shooter, who told it as it was. He understood the process, the ball players and their psyche. Besides being there for my son, I remember many conversations about baseball’s trials and tribulations, ball players’ passion for the game and our sons’ fixation on it. He loved what he did, he loved the boys he coached and he loved the Baseball Factory. We wish his family the strength to move forward at his trying time.
I met Kelly at a college baseball game in South Florida in 1989, when I was 7. My father was coaching at JU and wanted to bring Kelly along to join his staff. When my father got the job at MD he knew he had to bring Kelly with him to College Park to be his hitting coach and recruiting coordinator. During the summertime, when I was growing up, I spent my weeks going to the University of MD baseball camp, where Kelly would run the hitting stations. To this day I have never received more or better instruction on the aspect of hitting. Thanks Kelly. You will be missed.
I enjoyed all of the days we spent together coaching over the years. Kelly was a great father, husband, coach and most importantly, man. My wife, Kathy, and I are extremely shocked by this news and want to extend our condolences to his family. We will miss you, Kelly.
I'm very grateful that I had the opportunity to work with Kelly for two years at the University of Maryland. Along with being a great role model for our players, he was a great mentor for a young coach. His love and devotion to his family, his patience with people and his willingness to give his time, energy, and knowledge to others were what made knowing him a privilege. Rest in peace.

Kelly, we were all very saddened by your sudden passing. We knew you only briefly but your easy-going nature made it feel like we'd known you forever. Thanks for all the guidance and laughs. You will be missed! Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and colleagues at the Baseball Factory. RIP. Adriana, Nick, and Stephanie Velasquez.
One of the great human beings I have ever had the privilege to know. Words can never express the true impact you had on this world and to all who have crossed your path. You were a true gentleman in every sense of the word. I love you and will miss you beyond explanation! Colleen
Kelly Kulina exemplifies what being a good man is all about. He is a man that has a farther reach in this world than probably anyone that I know. Such an impressive person. It was an honor to have worked by your side for 5+ years. You were a great man that has impacted hundreds of lives…you will be missed dearly Kelly. Thousands will miss you. I will miss you. My thoughts and prayers go to you and your family, Kelly. Rest in Peace.
We were so sorry to hear of the untimely and extremely unfortunate passing of Kelly. Although, we never had the pleasure of meeting Kelly in person, our family has talked to him on the phone a couple of times and we were impressed with his professionalism and passion for helping boys to follow their dreams. Becky, Robert and I offer you, the entire Baseball Factory family and especially the Kulina family our most deep and heartfelt condolences. We will hold you all in our prayers during this difficult time.
With deepest sympathy,
Brad, Becky and Robert Davidson
It was an honor and privilege to work with Kelly. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to share his compassion for the game of baseball. He will be missed and my condolences go out to his family and the Baseball Factory.
Like so many other families we were shocked and saddened by the terrible news. Over the past months as we wended our way through the sometimes stressful college recruiting process Kelly was always the anchor to windward, the North Star, the voice on the end of the line that reassured us that it would all work out in the end. His advice was invaluable and having been a head coach himself he was able to share that perspective with us. He humanized the college coaches we were dealing with and never wanted us to forget that honesty was always the best policy - that at the end of the long process you wanted to be able to look all those coaches in the eye and know in your heart that you had treated them fairly and with respect. I remember one long (and I do mean long, but Kelly was always so generous with his time) when we talked about the coyness that often infiltrates the recruiting process. “Nobody wants to say what's really in their heart,” said Kelly, “for fear of losing the upper hand, but when I was a head coach and some kid called me and said Coach Kulina I really want to play for you, that would make my day. I'd be ecstatic.” We took Kelly's advice and it all worked out. I reflect on that conversation today for other reasons - we should always say what's in our heart because we might not have tomorrow to say it. I hope that Kelly knew how much we appreciated his time, his life experience which he shared so unstintingly, and his integrity.
R.I.P Kelly Kulina... You were always an inspiration to me and helped me become the person ive grown into today. I'm sorry I let you down in my past life. I just wish I could have told you before . You were a great leader and I will carry that with me throughout my life both on and off the field
Just received word of Coach K's untimely passing and my heart is truly saddened by this loss. I haven't seen Coach K in 21 years now as he moved on to bigger and better things. He coached my high school baseball team (Wayne County High) my junior and senior years and has always been the coach that I have never forgotten. He was truly an inspiration and role model to all the players on our team. After reading all the posts, I see he carried that dedication with him. He has touched the lives of so many young men and will never be forgotten. He was a great man and a great coach. You know he left an impact in the community, when you go to the baseball field 21 years later and people still talk about the days when Coach K was here!! Even though we may have lost contact, he was never forgotten and never will be!! May God Bless his family during this troublesome time. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you. Save us a place Coach K, because when we come to join you, the players from Wayne County High School want to meet you on Heaven's Baseball Diamond!!

We just met Kelly at the Fall classic in Jupiter and within a few days he made us very comfortable, as with family. We are deeply saddened by his passing.Although we just begun to know him, he will be greatly missed. May God bless his family.

One of the best hitting instructors the Factory had, really knew how to teach the players hoe to keep their eye on the ball and the wing from flying out (remember keep the towel under your arm pit and don't let it fall out). Had great presence at all the camps.
He will be greatly missed by both The Factory Family (past who were luckly enough to meet him) and His Wife and Kids.

I had the honor of coaching with Kelly in the late 80's. He became one of my best friends in a short time. He was always happy and easy-going. Kelly loved his family, friends, and baseball dearly. I already miss him! LeeAnn, may God bless you and your family.
Our hearts just ache for Kelly's family and his many Baseball Factory friends. May God wrap his loving arms around you all during this time.
Jim, Sallie, and Michael Gallagher
Kelly - You brought unparalleled knowledge, credibility and passion to our organization. You set an impossible standard for the rest of us to reach in the way you dealt with people and the number of lives you impacted. Your legacy will continue to live on in the young men you coached on the field, the families that you helped at the Baseball Factory, all of us that worked with you and in your own children. It was an honor to work with you and call you a friend. All of us who knew you are better for it.
Wayne County (Jesup, GA) was truly blessed to have him as our coach in the late 80's and he will be rememered as one of the best. He was a class act, a wonderful role model, and went above & beyond the call to help his seniors move on to college ball. It's obvious he kept that passion and love for the game over the last 20 years as evident by reading these posts. Its amazing how many lives he touched in a positive way. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Michael and I met Kelly in 2001 at the Baseball Factory offices. We liked him right away, and he was very helpful to us in making decisions about schools.
Michael and I send our thoughts and prayers to the Kulina Family, and to the Baseball Factory Family.
All the best to you and Steve in this very tough time

Kelly - You were a great man who gave every ounce of your energy, passion and love to the families you came in contact with on a daily basis. You treated everyone you met with dignity and respect and truly loved helping others get the most out of themselves. I can't even put into words how much you meant to me and how much I will miss you. I am so grateful that you took a chance on The Baseball Factory and we were able to work together for 8 plus years. You were truly one of a kind.
May God Bless over you in heaven.
Kel- It has been an honor to know and work with you over the last nine years. You are an inspiration to me and thousands of others whose lives you touched. Every time our paths would cross, you always had a new story to tell me about your family, your dogs, or a new workout routine. Your smile, your laugh, the fist pounds, and the high fives will be missed. I will miss you. Now, you are in a higher place watching down on us. My heart and thoughts will be with you and your family forever.
Kelly - It has been a pleasure to know you over the past years. Your kind and happy spirit was evident in every meeting. Thank you for all the help you provided my family as a Coach for the Reds in the early days, later as an advisor as part of the Exclusive Program, and finally as a colleague at Baseball Factory. In all these roles you were the same caring, helpful, person who was always willing to have that conversation. Your patience was amazing. You always made the time. Your communication skills were brilliant. I loved hearing all your baseball stories and the love you demonstrated when you spoke of your family. I learned a lot from you and will always remember the ways you touched our lives. Bernadette Bechta and family
Kelly was a positive force within Baseball Factory. A guy who would spend as much time with you as you needed. I remember telling families over the years that you really couldn't have a more perfect gent running the Exclusive Program since he had seen the college recruiting process as a player, a college coach and as a father. He cared passionately about the process and helping the players go on and live out their dreams. I wish I would have had the chance to play for a guy like KK. Kelly and I shared a hotel room at the Senior Fall Classic last year. He would be on the phone with players and families late into the night and would still have that alarm clock go off at 5 am for a workout. He had energy alright! I know this sounds weird, but he introduced me to Fuddruckers and Axe Body Spray. I had my first Fuddruckers burger with him and it was a delight! And he always smelled so good so I was like, "Hey where's the magic that makes you smell like that?" He goes, "Axe Body Spray!" So, every time he and I spoke after that trip, he'd ask, "What you up to P-Dub?" and I'd respond with, "Just doused myself in Axe Body Spray and heading over to Fuddruckers! What you up to?!" We'd always laugh. I'll miss you, KK. You were a great man.
It was sad to hear of the loss of Kelly Kulina. Our prayers go out to all of you and to Kelly's family. Steven and I met with Kelly earlier this year and he was very open and honest with his advice about college choices, baseball, and life.
Sincerely,
Steve Croyle

Thank you so much for calling us with the sad news about Kelly. I just wanted to let you know how sorry I am to hear about Kelly. I am going to miss him, I enjoyed our talks. Please know that you and all of baseball factory will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerly,

Kelly, we're all shocked and saddened that a man so strong could leave this world so early. We'll remember your friendship and quiet wisdom with Josh and our team. We want your family to know that we will be there to support them however we can and help Josh become the player and man that you wanted him to become. Rest in peace and may God bless your family and give them strength during these difficult times.

Kelly:
I was inspired by you first and foremost as a father and a husband. Thank you for sharing your values with all of us. We will all take a part of you and apply it to our lives.
I am grateful for the time we spent together at Baseball Factory. I will never forget the coaches convention in San Antonio and the long talks in your office about all that was possible at Baseball Factory and beyond.
Lee Ann and family: please know that you are in our prayers at this very moment. Kelly was a truly wonderful man that has touched the lives of so many. I and so many others were blessed to have known him.

It is a sad day for baseball. Our prayers go out for Kelly and his family. Kelly was a terrific man, a great baseball guy and the person we owe an aweful lot to. Kelly worked with us personally and was responsible for making great connections. He did one heck of a job for Johnny in the exclusive program...we will miss him...but our memories of his dedication and hardwork for us will never fade...

Coach Kulina- I had the great pleasure of getting your tips and great advise on the field as well as off the field in life. You also helped me select a college and baseball program that I love and I will never forget you for that. It says a lot about what kind of person you were when people are talking about you states away. Rest in peace Coach, you will be deeply missed.
Coach K you will certainly be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends. The world just lost a really great guy.
Coach K...we will miss you. You have inspired so many to be all they can be. It was a privilege to play for you at Maryland and thank you for all those college baseball memories. You will always be remembered and may God bless your family.
Jeff Wagner (Wags)
My son is a part of the Exclusive Program with Baseball Factory. Coach Kulina proved to be a true professional whenever we had need to talk with him, had questions, had concerns. During a particularly difficult time during my son's high school season, he spent time listening to us, giving us sage advice, and being there to build up our son's confidence and belief in himself. Coach Kulina will be sorely missed and we send our condolences to his wife, children, and family.
What a shock to get the email about Kelly Kulina.. My son was an exclusive player for the baseball factory in 2003-2004 and I must say that Kelly was a wonderful man who really cared so much about every kid and what would be a good fit for them in college. He was very accessible, returned phone calls very promptly and just really made the kids feel good about themselves while embarking in an overwhelming process. He also made the parents feel at ease and just a great guy. It was truly, truly, sad to hear about such a huge loss and I hope that all these notes about him can help his family a little in their grieving process and see how many lives he touched.. Thank you Kelly, you have really touched a lot of people in a very special way and you will be truly missed.
Our thoughts and prayer go out to you and your family. May your Baseball Factory friends and associates take comfort in your memories and experiences.

We met Kelly a couple years ago when we joined the Exclusive Program. What a wonderful man full of knowledge. When we got the news yesterday and our famiy was in shock. We had just spoke with Kelly and as usual, getting the advise he was so known for giving. I know we're going to miss him dearly moving forward. It's hard to understand why God would take such a great person from this earth, with so much left to teach at such a young age, but there must be a reason. He is now with God watching over everyone whose lives he has touched and giving us the strenght to move forward.
Coach K. It was an honor and a privilege to play for you at The University of Maryland. Your hard work and dedication to coaching provided so many of your players with a tremendous understanding of not only how to play the game of baseball, but to be outstanding young men. You not only taught us the game of baseball.. but about the game of life. I will never forget what you did for me as a player during my time at MD. Once a Terp.. Always a Terp. The legacy you left in the state of Maryland from your years at the University of Maryland and the Baseball Factory will last forever.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Kulina family.
Guy Smith – University of Maryland 92-96
To me, Kelly Kulina was a coach both on the field and off the field. I can truly say that I would not be where I am today without his presence in my life. He was able to positively impact an innumerable amount of kids and parents through his work. However, he was one of the few people that I know who was able to let his personality shine while dealing with business. For me, he was a source of ease, a source of knowledge, and a guiding light through a tumultuous time in my life. I have never met such a personable human being. Kelly Kulina was one of the few straight forward people I dealt with throughout the process of college searching. He was able to perfectly balance integrity and dedication. The amount of individuals positively impacted by Coach Kulina in his short life is a number that few will reach in their more prolonged time on this earth.
I wish the Kulina family my condolences. Coach Kulina’s legacy will continue to live on in the thousands upon thousands of kids he assisted.
Thanks for everything Coach.
We are so shocked to hear this sad news. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Kulina family.

Kelly was a first class person and a true friend. I enjoyed talking with him at the gym several mornings throughout the week and seeing him at church. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. May God rest his soul. - Chad Bollweg
I only spoke to Kelly a couple of times. However, both times I felt he was completely honest and extreamly helpfull. He will be missed by more people than we even realize. Future generations won't get the privalage of Kellys insight and full commitment to the recruiting process.
Rest in peace Coach. You will be missed terribly!!

I met Kelly a few years ago when Kel and My nephew were playing baseball together for the Maryland Cardinals. He never let a meeting go by that he was not only positive about my sons future, but was extremely encouraging and helpful. He will be remembered by my son and my family, and we will always remember the infectious smile that he had. We last saw him at UMBC, and my brother and I had a long conversation with him, and he seemed so content, and happy about the future of Baseball Factory. My best wishes go out to his family, and to the staff at Baseball Factory. Kelly, you will be sadly missed by all.
Kelly- You were a great advisor to my son over 5 years ago in his quest to play DI ball, which you assisted in making it become a reality for him. Your concern, experience, expertise and guidance was unquestionabale. Our family and the baseball community will miss you dearly and we convey to both your family and the Baseball Factory family our sincerest condolences. Thank you so much for what you have done for all aspiring collegiate ball players.
Kelly,
You were a great man and I just want to take this brief moment to say thank you for working with myself, my mother and Dan Mooney to get me into college. Without you, Dan, and the rest of the Baseball Factory I am not sure where my baseball career would be right now. May God bless you in heaven and Rest In Peace.
Thank you for helping me with this huge step forward in my life,
-Jared Baiman-
Dear Kulina Family,
Coach was very instrumental in helping our son reach his goal to play college baseball...he is now an assistant coach at Rowan University and attributes his college success to Kelly, his staff and the Baseball Factory...we are honored to have known him and pray for your peace in knowing he so deeply touched so many young lives.
God Bless You...

Dear Kulina Family:
I got to know Kelly through my work with the Exclusive program my junior and senior year. He was always so helpful through my process and got me to a comfortable and realistic place in assessing my opportunities and options. Kelly made me feel like regardless of the barriers with hard work and dedication I would get to play the game we both loved in college.
You will be missed,
Zach Huttie
While our family didn't know you personally, we were fortunate to have been a part of Baseball Factory events, and to hear you speak. Thank you for your warmth and sharing of knowledge. Our thoughts and prayers go to your family and to your friends who have lost you.

We just received the news here in Pa about Coach Kulina. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Kulina family at this difficult time. He was a great man who was honest and very supportive of our son as he made his college choices. He will be missed by everyone but the legacy a man leaves behind will live on forever.

Our sincere thoughts and prayers go out to the Kulina family. Kelly was an extraordinary coach and mentor for many young men. Both of our sons benefitted greatly from not only the baseball lessons, but the life lessons they learned over the years at Kulina Baseball Camp. Sharon and Dick Schwartz
We loved Kelly! He was the strong support for my son Brandon when he was off his game. We would go up to him during the game and say "what is he doing wrong" and Kelly would go through the mechanics to show us. What an awesome and selfless person!! Kelly will never be forgotten and his legacy will live on through his very talented children. God has a special place for people who has a heart like Kelly.
May God bless and keep you during this time of sorrow.
With Love,
Diane, Rodney, Brandon, Brianna, Angel, John and Kata
Kelly, not only were you a outstanding baseball man, you were a tremendous person and father. What a great influence you had on my life as I will never forget the memories and stories we shared about our families. I can only imagine the lives that you have influenced and guided as you have mine. You will be so deeply missed and I will treasure the days that we shared on and off the baseball field. Words can not explain the man you were and I was honored to have coached along side of you in Chicago as I will have memories for a lifetime. Thanks Kell, for being so a positive influence in my life as well as the many other you have touched! The Baseball Factory lost a big part, but I know that you will watch over all of us.
Lee Ann, our prayers and thoughts are with you.....MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND THE KIDS!

Coach K touched many lives in a positive way mine included. He influenced me as a player to go to college to play ball and graduate. I became a coach myself back in Wayne County where I played high school ball. I then in turn tried to somehow influence young people in a positive way like Coach K did. This world is a better place because of the time Kelly Kulina spent in it. He will be truly missed. He was one of the good guys. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

To the Kulina family,
First and foremost our deepest sympathies to you all. Kelly, worked with two of our boy's in the Exclusive program, he gave our boys clarity and confidence that we were not able to give them. Kelly was a lovely man, with great knowledge and always very kind and patient to work with. I am sorry he won't be around to see the fruits of his labors as that takes time. He spoke very highly of his children and family, he was a proud father. He will be missed greatly.
Know you are all in our prayers,
The Goglia Family
Coach Kulina made players feel like he knew every one of our strengths and weaknesses and had the wisdom and experience to know exactly where we would fit in college baseball. His connections to some of the major baseball programs in the country allowed all of us college hopefuls to get a taste of what was possible, while his guidance cautioned us not to waste time and money attending tryouts and camps sponsored by programs that were out of our reach. Selecting a college baseball program - and being selected by a college baseball program - is a very challenging process. Players can spend a lot of money and waste a lot of time going to programs where the roster is already filled or where the program has unspoken entrance criteria that would eliminate many players outright. Coach Kulina seemed to know all of these and was able to guide us away from them tactfully without hurting anyone's feelings. At the same time he was able to analyze our strengths and project our potential performance level so well that when he called a coach to say "I think I have someone that would be a good match for your program," the coach wouldn't have a shadow of a doubt that he was right. Coach Kulina leaves an enormous vacancy that will be difficult to fill. What cannot be replaced is the enormous heart that drove all of this.
From the Walsh Family:
I have never met a person who was so giving with his time and knowledge. He always took the time to show my son Reid a better way to pitch. We will miss you terribly. Lee Ann, our thoughts our with you and we will keep your family close to our hearts.
Kelly was an awesome person all around. I have known him since I was 12 years old. His dedication to LeeAnn and all three of his kids was just wonderful. He wouldnt miss one baseball game of Kell's. I remember so many times watching his face so proud of Kell as he watched his games. The view of him standing on the side lines watching is something I will never forget. He was just so full of love for his family. I will miss seeing him around Savage and waving to me every morning when we pass each other. God has a purpose for this and I pray for the whole family during this time of sadness.
Love,
Brandy
Like everyone, I was shocked and extremely saddened to hear the news of Coach K passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones. I had the honor of playing for Coach K at the Univ. of Maryland. And as great as he was as a coach, he was an even better guy. I know I will always appreciate what he did for me and my career. He will be missed. God Bless.

Daddy, I know you're up there. I'm gonna make you so proud of me I promise. Kell, Josh, and I are gonna help mommy and I promise we won't let this family be anything less than you made it. Im gonna talk to you daddy, and although you may not answer right away I know you're there. Im gonna expect you to tell me what I did wrong when I struck out, and why I should have kept my field hockey stick down lower to stop that ball, and when I score, I'll look over in the stands and expect you to be giving me a thumbs up, and you'll be there, I know you will. I would give anything to see your impression of Brett Favre the other night when they played the packers. "Pshh greatest quarterback in the NFL? I could show him up! We're close in age right?" haha Go ahead daddy, show him up. So many people love and appreciate you daddy, I know you're reading all these and it's bringing tears to your eyes. You have so many friends and people that support you, and they're gonna take care of us okay? You've taught so many people so many things, and I am so proud to call you my daddy. By the way I received an email from the USCB softball consultant, Sand sharks baby! haha I still have that text from you. Promise me you'll come back and give us the push we need to get through when you see us struggle. I'll be seeing you. xoxo
Thank you all for your time and support you have dedicated to the Baseball Factory Family, Our Family, and my father. He greatly appreciates each and every one of you to help take care of what he so suddenly and without choice, left behind. I know you all meant so much to him, believe me, It was a struggle to get him down for dinner if he was talking to one of his players, parents, Dan Mooney, Woody, and others from the Baseball Factory. Make him proud guys. I love you all.
Kelly provided a huge impact on our family in a time when no one else could. He worked one on one with our son and helped him get connected with the school of his dreams - - -yeah, that was his job...but he treated it as so much more than that. He showed love and compassion to a 17 year old kid he never met. He will always be remembered in our family as apart of our family!

Coach Kelly,
It is such a great loss to everyone that you are gone. Although we never met in person, you had such a great impact on our family and especially our son, Pablo. You worked with him through some uncertain times and got him back on track and we appreciate you for that. It was your dedication and personal skills that allowed Pablo to continue on his way with education and baseball.
God Bless your family!
Kulina Family and Baseball Factory Family,
Even though I only worked with Kelly once I could see his passion for baseball and his family. I know he will be missed by all! Hey, Keep the Faith! Kalina Family, I am so sorry for the loss of your husband and father. I know Kelly's spirit will live on in the hearts of his family. Hey, God needed someone to run his exclusive program!
To the Kulina Family. Coach Kulina was a great man...He lives on in the young athletes that he instilled hard work, determination, passion and at the same time self-respect and the respect of others. His kindness caring shined through his strong demeanor. He truly loved helping others, and giving of himself came natural...We are grateful our paths crossed....
You will be very much missed Coach, but never forgotten...
God Bless you and God Bless your family....
I had the opportunity to meet Kelly at the 2008 UA National Showcase event in Omaha during the CWS and my family and myself greatly enjoyed the experience. During the week I spoke to Kelly a couple of times to get his evaluation of my son, Jarred, and what his future prospects were. Kelly's honest straight forward opinions and advice eventually proved to be sound guidance in our pursuits and eventually my son's success in finding a spot on a college team. Kelly's follow-up phone calls, along with his staff, during the following 9 - 10 months, showed genuine interest in my son's success. His advice during the recruiting process was very helpful.
I knew Kelly both professionally and personally for five years. My company worked with The Baseball Factory and my son went through the exclusive program under Kelly's guidance. Professionally, the Baseball Factory was great to work with and Kelly enhanced that relationship. Kelly truly cared about my son and was instrumental in him receiving a Division I full scholarship. Kelly never stopped caring and assisted greatly in my son transferring schools after his sophomore year. That caring has lasted up until his untimely and shocking passing as he was still helping my son last week land a professional contract after being released by the Detroit Tiger following shoulder surgery.
Kelly was a true friend and trusting baseball confidant. I'll miss our conversations about baseball, our families and life in general. My son will miss his advocacy as Kelly was one of the few people in baseball he could trust.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kelly's family and friends and may they be comforted by the fact that he was "a man's man", a trusting friend, a loyal family man, a passionate professional and a lover of life, every single second of life that he had.
We're shocked and deeply saddened by Kelly's passing. Kelly -- you were one of the greats -- knowledgeable, gracious and caring -- someone who put thought, consideration and attention into every meeting and conversation. You were a role model and inspiration; someone we all admired, but still could approach for guidance. We are so fortunate to have known you. The world needs more people like you, Kelly, and is a better place because of all the lives you have touched. Bless you and your family. We will miss you, Kelly, and are grateful for all you have done.
With deep regard and affection,

Kelly was such a rock-solid person. He was kind, encouraging and passionate. I first met him back in 1992 and quickly realized he was truly one of the true gentlemen and “good guys” in college baseball. I will always cherish having the opportunity to work with Kelly many years later. He touched the lives of thousands of people everywhere. He led by example. What an amazing person. What an incredible gift Kelly was to all. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and countless friends.

Coach Kulina,
It was just Monday when you left my dad a message and asked to call him. Dad just missed your call and when he returned your call on Tuesday morning he was told you left us to be with our Heavenly Father. You have been an inspiration to my life since joining the baseball factory in 8th grade. Now, I'm a senior ready for the next level because of you and the exclusive program. You have given me the opportunity to excel and have talked well about me, and I thank you. You will be greatly missed and those long talks with my family and I will never be forgotten. Thanks for the memories, time and laughter. May God Bless your family and may you be at peace on the right hand of our Father in Christ. Brandon, Pedro, Lillian and Sheana Vega
I met Kelly years ago right when he came to the BBF full time. I remember his enthusiasm for the game and his love for the kids. While working there myself, we had many talks about baseball and the players in our programs. Always doing what was best for them and listening. On the occassion, we had the chance to meet at an event. He was always one of the guys I definitely wanted to spend time with.
Kelly, you will be missed! You are a professional...
-Patrick Graham
We were all so shocked to hear of Kelly's passing. Kelly was an incredible man, he lived his life everyday in a way that was an example to us all. He was always available when we sought his great counsel and guidance throughout the college recruitment process. He knew how to narrow the search for "right school" with the "right coaching staff" and the "right program" including the "best curriculum" for our son. He and our son Bud, who is currently living his dream in the Major Leagues, just met for lunch last week in Philadelphia. Kelly was in the area and contacted Bud so they could meet for lunch. I was excited to hear thet had spent some time together.
Kelly was beyond special, beyond caring and will never be replaced, only honored for all that he stood for and we can only hope to emulate his name.
K for his kindness,
E for his energy,
L for his Loyalty to God, his family and himself,
L for his love of family, baseball and young men he worked with/for,
Y for the yearning we will all feel everytime we think of him. God bless Kelly's family (both at home and at work, the Baseball Factory family) at this extremely sad time in their lives. Rest in Peace.
Sincerely,
Suzi and Dave Norris
I had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful man. He was so full of life and passionate about helping out our children to succeed in life.
My prayers and thoughts go out to Kelly's family.
Kelly, you will be missed.
Sincerely,
LLE
We are so saddened by the loss of such a great man. I had the pleasure of meeting Kelly when my brothers were going through their college search process with the Baseball Factory, and then I had the great pleasure of working with him for 2 years at the Factory. There was never a time when he wouldn't drop what he was doing to help me and/or speak with me about something I needed. I have fond memories of long conversations with Kelly on subjects ranging from baseball, to business, to life, and to parenting. The connection to Kelly endured on as a colleague in my current company played baseball for him at Maryland in the early '90s, and I got to hear even more stories from a past player about his genuine kindness, enthusiasm, and love for people both on and off the field. I last spoke to Kelly a few months ago, and even that was a testament to his character as he was completely busy but still returned my phonecall and spent time answering some questions I had. Our prayers to Kelly's family, and may God be with him as he rests in peace.
Sincerely,
Ralph Vasami, and the entire Vasami Family.
Our son, Patrick, is a Factory “alum”, having participated in your camp at the Cape, a tournament in Florida, and your Puma Pre-season AA Tournament. Kelly Kulina was one of Patrick’s favorite coaches from his great experience with Baseball Factory and we are indeed saddened to learn of his passing. In fact, Kelly gave a most informative and inspirational talk to a large group and then spoke with Patrick individually about his baseball future in Tucson the year Patrick participated there. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and certainly with his family.
I forwarded the newsletter to Patrick, who is now a junior outfielder under Coach Allen Gum and his staff at Southern Arkansas University. (When Mitch Gaspard left Northwestern State to become the assistant at Alabama, Patrick transferred to SAU and this has turned out to be an excellent choice.) We have such fond memories of our times with Baseball Factory and are always happy to recommend you to anyone who asks.
Pat and I always appreciated the personal and positive interaction Rob, Kelly, Steve, Steve Bernhardt and Rick Sofield had with Patrick and to this day we attribute alot of his good personal, professional, and playing skills to time he spent learning from all of you.
Again, we extend our sincere sympathy to all of you at Baseball Factory.
Sincerely,

We were lucky to become involved with the Baseball factory five years ago when my son, Pat, was entering 9th grade. By the middle of his freshman year in HS Kelly asked him to become involved with his Exclusive Program. Kelly was a character who provided such positive inspiration to us and countless other young men who wanted to take their talent to the next level. We all were blessed having our lives touched by this unique individual. Even though Patrick moved on to college, whenever I would stop in the office Kelly would always make a point to inquire about how Pat was doing and/or congratulate him on all of his success he has had with his college team. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, his family at the Factory, and his many, many friends.
Sincerely,
The Sapp family.
All of us at Howard, Merrell & Partners were very sad to hear the news about Kelly’s passing. We all new he was a remarkable man, but after reading the blog post we were reminded what a positive influence he has been on so many people. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and all of the Baseball Factory family.

I met coach Kulina almost 20 years ago when I was just a youngster attending his baseball camps in Hummelstown PA. Through the years I occasionally would run into him or hear his name mentioned until last January in San Diego CA. I was waiting in baggage claim and noticed Kelly standing there looking as if he hadnt physically changed in years. We were attending a convention for baseball coaches and had numerous conversations over the course of the week. Kelly treated me like an old lost friend and he immediately got me hooked up with some of the guys at Baseball Factory. He was directly involved in me meeting some very influential people in the game. I am just a young college coach now, but for the rest of my career I will try to impact people and the game as he would have. I will miss him, our conversations and his passion. I'm so sorry for his family and the entire Baseball Factory team. God Bless you.

It was a blessing to have known you. You were a kind, thoughtful, compassionate, hard working and very knowledgable friend and trusted adviser!
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Rest in peace my friend knowing that you left your family and those you touched with a wonderful and lasting legacy and wonderful memories!

Having known Coach Kulina for over 2 years during our affiliation with The Baseball Factory, we were shocked and extremely saddened when we got Rob N's email last night. In fact, our son Michael emailed us from college (after baseball practice, of course), to tell us how upset he was about the news.
Coach K. was one of a kind, and was one of the most dedicated, hard-working, down-to-earth baseball guys we've ever met. This is a tremendous loss not only for The Baseball Factory family, but for the baseball community and for kids whose dreams include playing at the next level. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Kulina family and The Baseball Factory family.
RIP, Coach K., and thanks for everything -- we'll think of you every time Michael steps on the college field, knowing how much you did to help him get there...

We were shocked and sadened by the sudden passing of Kelly Kulina. I was just listening to an old voice mail from him earlier in the week. Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to extend our thanks to him and the Baseball Factory Staff for their support and guidance these past few months. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and co-workers. Words cannot describe how he will be missed.
God Bless
Kulina family,
It's been 20 years since Kell Jr. and I met as little kids and were running around getting into trouble. I could always count on Ms. Leanne and Mr. Kulina to keep a close eye out for me, just like I was there own family. This comes as a complete shock to me, as it does everybody else writing on this forum. Mr. Kulina taught me so much about the game of baseball in the various instances that he was around, whether it be practices, games, or just playing backyard ball in the neighborhood. He made a positive impact on so many people in his time and we will never forget him..
Love you all, Nick

Thank you KK, for helping us ALL excel. You have positively impacted more lives then most of us could ever dream. We will miss you.
The memories will always live on Kelly....It was a pleasure working with you for the past 3 years. I will always remember the times when I had to go to you to answer those "real" baseball questions, even if they didn't pertain to a Baseball Factory player. I remember a time when there was a debate in the back of the office about Josh Hamilton and his talent. When all said and done the final answer had to come from the guy who knew it all, Kelly Kulina. I knew what I was getting into when I walked into his office about Hamilton. It was probably going to be a 15-20 minute conversation. And it was. I felt like I knew a lot more about the guy after that as Kelly got a chance to see him play in High School. Kelly got to see so many players throughout his time, and what's most important is he treated them all the same. Whether you were a player who was just looking to play in college, or a player who wanted to get to the big show, he treated you the same.
You were a great person on and off the field and I will remember that more than anything. We will miss you!
To Kelly's family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss. God Bless
Kelly, I don't really know how to begin. I'll always remember your energy and your enthusiasm for everything you did in the game of baseball, especially when it came to helping young players realize their dreams to play in college. You also were a tremendous mentor to me and I'll always be thankful you gave me the chance to work for you. Thank you for everything!
You were always there Kelly when I needed to calm down when Joseph was applying to colleges. You were so supportive and realistic to where Joseph could play in college. I truly appreciated all you did for him. You were an inspiration to him in college as well as a co worker at the Baseball Factory. You will truly be missed. Thank you for being that role model to him. Will meet you up there one day in heaven! Save a place for all us fans of baseball! Love Pat and Joe Lake!
Wow, today was very hard on me and a lot of others. Kelly left such a great impact on SO many lives. He was such an awesome husband, father, and friend! Anyone who knew Kelly should consider yourself lucky, he was such an awesome person to meet. Just seeing him at the gym in the mornings, he always came by and said hi and just had the biggest smile on his face no matter what. He will be missed so much!!
**my prayers and thoughts go to the Kulina Family. Each and every one of them are just simply amazing. I am so glad they are apart of my life. I know its hard to understand why God would take him, but just remember everything happens for a reason. Keep a smile on your face, and whenever you are in need just look up and he will be right there cheering you on!! Stay strong, he wouldnt want to see you upset!
Love,

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Kulina Family.
Lee Ann, we are so sorry to hear of "Kuchie Bear's" passing. Though it has been ages since we have seen you guys you must know that not many weeks go by without me remembering those day in Douglas at South Georgia. I would not have known about this had Jane not just happened upon us via the web just today. (yes that Jane) You probably know that we have also lost Eddie Haymans. Know that we love you guys and we will be praying for you and your family. May God watch over KK. Love you lots David Baker and Dawn Arnsdorff Baker. GA
Kelly, you were a wonderful friend and team mate. I will always cherish our years at JU together. God must have needed a great baseball man in heaven. My prayers go out to Lee Ann and the entire Kulina family.
Coach, you were a great inspiration and role model. You worked with me in the exclusive program and got me into the college I am at to day. You made it possible for me to play college baseball. I thank you. Thank you for everything you have done for me.
God Bless,
Timothy Leary
Coach K
My family was deeply saddened by the news of Coach K's passing. Some of my best memories are from my years playing at The University of Maryland and Coach K was a part of that special time in my life. I wasn't the best player that ever stepped on Shipley field, but Coach K helped me become the best player I could be. And that is what he did, every day. He helped kids get the best out of themselves. He knew how to find what made me tick and attacked it (I didnt always like it by the way). But it worked. And I am extremely grateful for what he did for me. I catch myself doing some of the same things that Coach K did with me with my 3 year old son. And it is never intentional. It just happens. It happens because it was instilled in me 13 years ago by a great man.
Thank you Coach K. I promise to pass on to my children what you taught to me.
God Bless You and God Bless the Kulina family!

Lee Ann,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I often think of the fun we all had at SGC. Cherish the memories and know that God needed a great "Baseball Man" in heaven. He and Eddie Haymans are choosing teams right now. May you all see many "Butterflies".
God Bless,
Jane Waldrop Whisenant
I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with Kelly's family, friends and the team at the Baseball Factory.

Mrs. Kulina,
During the past 3 years I would call Kelly from time to time just to pick his brains regarding my son and the best path he should follow during his college career. At the conclusion of every (long) conversation I knew 2 things: I was getting first class advice and I had just spent time with a special person. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time but also remember how lucky all of us were to be in his presence.
The Colvin Family
Hey Rob I just got your phone message this week about Kelly and cannot express the shock of learning of his passing. In reading this blog, I can see that he left behind a legacy of helping young men and their families, a view that both my son, Kevin, and myself experienced firsthand. Patient, knowledgeable and helpful. Thoughtful responses to a dad's naive litany of questions. These are the qualities that I will remember about him. His advice was invaluable in guiding us along the recruiting path until my son was able to find the right fit at a great school. Being on separate Coasts, our paths normally would not have crossed but we are very fortunate that it did because, in the best way possible, he will have left his mark and had an impact on my son's future. We are saddened by this loss as Kevin, my wife and I extend our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the Kulina family.

Having played at Jacksonville University with Kelly's brother Kenny in 1989 I was thrilled to meet Kelly a few years ago when the Baseball Factory became a client. Knowing both brothers, I came to understand how talented and professional both brothers are. I was devastated yesterday to read about Kelly's passing in the local newspaper. Baseball in general, The Baseball Factory and the many players Kelly has helped have lost a great man. My condolences to Kelly's family at this very difficult time.

My condolences go out to the family of Kelly Kulina. I played with his brother Kenny for two years and Kelly coached me for one at JU. Ironically, the last time I saw him was in the spring. We sat together at the funeral for coach TA's Dad.
The upcoming JU Alumni Baseball game will hold special meaning for me. RIP

I knew Kelly at the other end of his life. We grew up together playing in the Hummelstown Little Leagues and on through Teener A and B. We had some good head to head pitching matchups when he played for the Mets and I was with the Cubs in the Midget Majors. Then we played together for a few years in Teener ball.
I just couldn't believe what I was reading in the paper this morning. We drifted apart after high school but I'll never forget those days.
I'll see ya again someday Kel'...
We were saddened to hear of the passing of such a great guy. Why is it the best are taken from us too soon? We'll never know, but we all have special memories of Kelly Kulina. We only knew him as 'Coach' but I have a pretty good feeling that he was on top of his game in his personal life, too. The David Marks family
The tragic news our family received this past week has been so surreal. With each passing day we are realizing it is not a bad dream. Several times a day members of our family have been checking this blog and have been so touched by the wonderful things being said about him. Words can't express how the wonderful comments have helped us deal with our loss. My father who is 82 made the comment to me at the viewing the other night how even though he stands 5 foot 7, he feels like he is 10 feet tall after hearing and reading the comments made about his son. In his darkest moment of mourning the loss of his son, he is so proud! Kelly's passing should remind us all how precious life is with each day we are able to open our eyes. We all have an opportunity to make a difference with the gifts each of us possess. You see, I, like many of the blogs above have benefited from Kelly's gifts. My college baseball aspirations were influenced by Kelly as I attended both South Georgia and Jacksonville University. Just like many, Kelly's guidance and support during that time was invaluable.
I will miss our frequent long distant talks about family, sports, recruiting, coaching, players and baseball in general. I look forward with great pride to continuing to offer baseball instruction in your honor at our camp in PA. I hope your enjoying a good "dip of skoal" and smiling as you hear the wonderful things being said about you. I love you man and thank you for being there for me in so many ways.
Kenny Kulina
I just heard about Kelly's passing and my thoughts and prayers are with his family. I played baseball with Kelly at Jacksonville University and besides our team leading the nation in home runs that year I remember our Sun Belt Conference tourney in Virginia when Kelly was a hitting machine. We had alot of fun off the field as well, Slover, Wolfie and Kelly would call me late at night when I worked at a pizza place looking for a pizza out the back door. Those are fond memories I will always remember.

You are more to me than just my best friends Dad, you are an inspirational role model. Your extreme drive and heart to do what it is you loved made me emulate your style more than you know. If and when I have a family of my own, I will use you as a template. Thank you for all of your advice as I was growing up across the street. you are the best kind of man and I know you are in a better place because of it. Thank you for the influence you have made on my life and all the free rides to the Kelly Kulinas Baseball Camp over in CP.. you will be forever missed sir.

We are saddened by the sudden passing of Mr. Kelly Kulina. Baseball has certainly lost a natural teacher and motivator. Our thoughts, love and prayers go out to both the Kulina family and the Baseball Factory family. The game of baseball is so great because of great people such as Kelly Kulina - Adam Beaver and the Baseball Express Staff
This is a tragic loss to many. I did not know Kelly very well but was around him for a week and had him as a coach. He was a great guy and a great coach as well. A kind of guy you don;t come across every day. My condolences go out to his family. Rest In Peace Kelly
We met Kelly a year ago in West Palm....What a great guy!!! Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. RIP Kelly you will be greatly miss and thank you for everything you did for my son.
Our thoughts and prayers go out the entire Kulina Family. He was a remarkable human being. I know you are all so very proud of him and all of his accomplishments. The Lord will take care of him.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Kulina Family. Kelly did things for me on a baseball and life level that I could have never thought possible. Thank you very much for every bit of help you gave to me.
Kelly you will truely be missed. You were a pleasure and inspiration to be around both on and off the the field. You have impacted the lives of soo many young people. My prayers go out to Family.
Was saddened to hear of your loss, Kelly's wife is from my hometown Douglas,Ga.. My prayers are with Leighanne and her family, and Kelly's family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Kulina family -- Kelly was such a good guy -- Always, positive and always helpful, he helped our family immeasurably, and from the outpouring here, it's clear that he helped so many others -- Again our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Kulina family.
I haven't seen Kelly in many years, but when I read the email about his passing... it felt like I had been kicked in the stomach. Kelly's brother, Kenny, and I played ball together at JU. During that time, Kelly was always around to support Kenny and the whole JU team. It doesn't surprise me that he became so successful at his career and made such a positive impact on so many people. He and I lifted weights together during the off season one year, and I now truly value the time spent together and stories shared during that time. He was such a laid-back good guy. We will be thinking of him at the Alumni baseball game in a few weeks. My prayers go out to all of his family... I can't imagine how hard that this is for all of you.

Lee Ann and the Kulina Family, I am so sadden by the sudden passing of my former teammate, roommate, and baseball buddy. I am still in shock after my former teamate and friend at JU, Bob Slover, informed me of this trajedy. I was so looking forward to maybe seeing Kelly at the JU alumni game in a few weeks. Please call me Lee Ann if you want to talk. I am a teacher and High School baseball/football coach back in my hometown of Savannah, Ga. 912-695-2816. May God Bless you,.... and Kelly will always be on my mind !!! .........Danny Wolfe, teammate at South Ga JC and JU 1980-1984.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kelly's family and the entire Baseball Factory "Family". Kelly was kind and caring to all of us throughout the college search process for our son. He will be truly missed by everyone whose life he touched.
Fondly, The Federer's
Kelly was an outstanding baseball man but was a far better man, husband, and father. He led a baseball factory team that was instrumental in our son being able to play baseball at the collegiate level and we are grateful. We are extremely shocked and saddened by his passing. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family and the Baseball Factory family as well.
Dear Uncle Kelly,
Hi :) I know you are up there some where, looking out for all of us (remember to save me a spot right by you and nana!). The past few days have been so surreal for me. I feel like you are just away for a vacation or something and you will return home later. I keep on thinking that you will call my mother one of these days or I will just see you at the next Kulina Christmas party. Throughout my life, I have only seen you once a year. Unfortunately, we were never really close and I never got to know the true Kelly Kulina. After reading all the blogs and hearing stories from the people you have impacted and loved so dearly, I have be able to see the wonderful, loyal, light-hearted, loving, and full of life man that you were. I am sadden by the fact that it took you passing away for me to realize all of this. I want you to know that you are my inspiration for the rest of my life. I want to go out into the world and make an impact on people just like you have. You were a man who lived life to the fullest and I hope I will be able to model myself and my life after you. You will be greatly missed and you will forever be in our hearts. <3
Love,
Kaitlin
My son and I met Coach Kulina back in 2002 at Dodgertown. Since that time My son BruceII went on to earn a DI baseball scholarship and has since graduated from that university and now has a BBA degree and is working as a Financial Planner. Coach Kulina's guidance during the recruiting process not only helped him with target marketing schools and defining his goals and frankly forcing him to communicate want he wanted out of a baseball program and a university. Those skills also heled him as he was entering the job market. Even though we had not spoken to him for many years we are gratefull to have known Coach Kulina and appreciate how he helped our son when he needed that extra nudge.
Coach Kulina's far reaching hand goes much further that the baseball field, he helps mold teenage boys into productive young men and as one father to another I thank you for that.
Rob, thanks for letting us know and allowing many of us a chance to express our thoughts to the family

Coach K has been a great influence and help in my life and getting me into college. If it had not been for Coach K I am not sure I would have been brought to a college that I enjoy and have great oppotunities at. It came as a great surprised to hear of this tragic event as I had gotten on to my email to send him and the great people at the Baseball Factoty an update on how college was going.
As for his family I can related and understand their pain as I lost my dad just over a year ago also at the age of 49. It is a tough process that will only heal with time. You just have to remember all the great times you had and alway remember that he will always be watching over you!
I just want to thank Coach K for his time, care, and help
Hey Uncle Kelly,
I'm not sure really where to begin...I'm sorry that it took me so long to write. The past few days I keep thinking of different things to say but nothing seems to come out the right way.
I will forever remember the feel of your presence at a Kulina get together, the laughter, the love, and the humor. Reading your blogs and hearing the stories of how many lives you have touched and influenced has been amazing. You have helped so many young people strive for excellence and follow their dreams.
I know the day of your viewing our family felt truely honored. I am so proud to call you Uncle Kelly.
Thank you for all your inspiration.
Kellie Kulina
Kelly, the first thing I want you to know is how generous your working family (The Baseball Factory) has been with their time, talent, and the lengths they have gone to regarding making certain Lee Ann, Lavin, Kel and Josh continue to thrive and grow. The culture at The Baseball factory, as an organization, is pure excellence. They approach everything with 'going the extra mile' and taking things 'over the top.' What an awesome organization! It's no wonder you loved your job and the people you worked with.
Secondly, I want you to know how thankful I am to you that you came into Lee Ann's life. The love you had for her made me love you so much. You were generous, kind, funny and I loved your goofy moments. They endeared me to you.
Finally, I want you to know that the South Georgia thoroughbred you married is a steal magnolia. She has the strength to carry on and I know your love will always be with her.
I'm certain Kel, or Josh, or Lavin will one day have a little boy that looks just like his Grandfather. He'll be naturally talented when it comes to baseball. And we will all know where that comes from.
I love you and will miss you, Kelly. But, I know you will be with us always.
Aunt Donna
I have just learned of Kelly's passing. His professionalism and approach to my son and the game will never be forgotten.
I've known Kelly since he was playing with a plastic bat in his hometown of Hummelstown,Pa. When I played football with his brother Jim, Kelly would come around and bug us about how good a baseball player he was going to be. He would swing that bat so hard, I would have to chase him around just to get that bat from hitting me, he was a fast little guy. I'm crying right now after seeing the tribute video, outstanding. I wish I could've known him more. I just remember when he was a young boy playing high school ball. I would always say to myself,"Not another Kulina". Ha!Ha! His brothers, Jim,Kenny and Ed were ball players also. Up here in Hummelstown,Pa., another Kulina is making waves, his nephew, Kiley playing quarterback for Lower Dauphin High School, also a great baseball player like is Uncle. Rest in peace, Kelly, and God bless you and your family.
Kelly:
I've finally gotten the words I've been thinking in the past week written down in sentences, better late then never right! First and foremost, I still can not believe that you are gone. I expect to see you when Kell and I get back home, or in the morning before you go to work, and outside playing ball with Nala. I think she is starting to realize that Pop-Pop won't be coming home. I've caught her looking around the house for you, especially when she hears the garage door open. I forget how much she loved you and that she needs to be comforted too, just like the rest of us. The other blogs did a great job of capitalizing how much of an amazing friend, coach, father, husband, colleague and relative you were. I know everyone can agree that your legacy will continue on in your Baseball Factory family, your three wonderful kids, and your beautiful and loving wife. I'm so thankful that you and your family opened your heart to me and welcomed me with open arms. From the family vacations, baseball games, JU trips, and just hanging around the house, I got to see and know you. I've been questioning why you were taken from us all so early, but after hearing Matt's interpretation, it becomes crystal clear. God did have a higher purpose for you and wanted only the best on his team, and the best happened to be you! I find comfort in knowing that you'll be watching as Kell and I say our vows, and when we start a family of our own, I know you'll calm Kell down so he doesn't faint and guide him to be the perfect father and husband. When our baby has a profound love for baseball and talent above the rest, everyone will know where he comes from, and that he's Kelly's grand baby. You and Lee have shown us what true soul mates are and that a marriage consists of devotion, love, respect, and happiness. I'm fortunate to have found my soul mate in your son, and get the chance to have the same experience as you and Lee. By the way, I'm sure you are worried about her, but don't worry, she's a strong southern woman, and has Kell, Lavin, Josh and me, along with countless friends and family. Kell and I promise to take care of her, and remind her everyday how much she's loved along with Lavin and Josh. With time all will heal but not be forgotten. Your forever presence in our hearts and in our memories will help through the rough times and struggles, and with you in our hearts, we will never be alone.I know you will always be watching over us. You are so proud of your family, and I know they are all proud of you. I am proud to become a Kulina, because YOU'VE made it worth becoming a Kulina. Save the Kulina family a place in the stands of Heaven's Baseball field, because some day we will all be there to cheer you on. I will forever love and miss you!
Love always,
Your future daughter in law
<3 Kathy
Still find myself coming back to the website, 10 days later ... still in disbelief. I feel as though someone has punched me in the gut, still have that empty feeling. Kenny, I'm praying for you and your entire family. What an awesome guy Kelly was, I can still remember those late nights on Mahan St., during his brief stay in Jesup. He was such a motivator and positive influence in the lives of so many people.... mine included. He was definitly "ONE" of a kind.
May the Lord bless and keep you Kelly
Our sympathys to The Kulina Family and everyone at The Baseball Factory. He was a great man that genuinely cared for the well-being of all of his players. He was a very positive influence in my life and I will never forget the ideals he instilled in me. You will be missed.

To the Kulina Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
The De Rosa Family
My heart is saddened for those who have been left behind. My prayer is that God would grant a peace beyond understanding to Kelly's family and friends. Kelly was a great teacher both on and off the field. In life he taught and modeled passion and energy. Kelly was a "good finder" always looking for the positives in people and in life.
Even in death, Kelly taught us about the frailty of life (it's a mere vapor) and the importance of expressing your appreciation before it is to late.
Kelly had a great smile and I am convinced it was because he knew something better awaited him. Well done, my good and faitful husband, father and friend.
Mac Seibert
My dearest Kelly,
Our hearts are heavy with the absence of your presence. We miss you SO much! At first it seemed as though you were on a trip and would be home any day. Then reality set in. We are all wondering why something like this happened to a healthy young man with no warning. I know God has a plan and one day hopefully, we will know his purpose. My faith and knowing one day I will see you again, is what helps me get through each day.
I miss your sweet smile, your loving looks at the gym, the way you danced around the house when the radio was on and I pretended not to look at you at first, because you wanted me to look at you and smile. You made me and the kids laugh at your silliness and knew how to make us smile, especially if we’d had a bad day. You have the ability to bring a smile to a person who has just met you, yet feels like they have known you for years.
The kids and I will be fine because we are fortunate enough to have a lot of people around who love you and us. The memories we have will live on forever through the photos, videos, and loving blogs written by some very dear friends and family members. We knew you were a special man, but were awed by all the lives you touched in your 48 years on this earth. My wish is that we all try to model our lives after you and become better listeners, have more patience with others, think carefully before we speak, and learn how to make others laugh. My life has been richer for knowing you. You are my best friend and my soul mate!
Until we see each other again sweetie!
I love you!
Lee Ann
I'm in shock as I'm just learning of this terrible news. I played for Kelly at the University of Maryland. What a great figure in so many ways. What i have always remembered about Kelly over the years is how much more than a coach he was, a patient gentleman who cared deeply about how his players were doing on and off the field and who always reassured the parents of the kids playing for him that they were in good hands.
Lee Ann and The Kids, I am terribly sorry about your tremendous loss but I know Kelly is looking down on you and giving you strength.
With Every Good Wish,
Spencer Swartz
We are so sad to hear about Kelly's death. Often... usually... people approach my kids with questions about their dad. Kelly approached my son at an event and later at a tournament with sincere comments about my son's own life. I took quick notice of that and will always appreciate that likely natural and not really thought about gesture. It shows lack of personal agenda, and from everything I read about Kelly, it fits right in with who he was. Because I knew he would be affected by the news even after only two short meetings with Kelly, I waited to tell my son until we weren't rushing around crazily, and as I expected he was very saddened. When an adult makes an impact on a teenager in a short amount of time you know there is something real to that person. We would have loved to know Kelly better and meanwhile extend our truest sympathies to his family for an obviously immeasurable loss.
The Bichette Family, Dante, Mariana, Dante Jr, and Bo
The Tribute Video was very touching and really just proves to the world what an amazing guy Kelly was. He is very much missed and loved!
We found the Baseball Factory and Kelly Kulina at the same time and have never looked back. His ability to blend lessons on and off the field made for a great teaching experience.
"Coach Kulina" was a real role model. He worked his hardest for us at PBCC and I was lucky enough to know him afterwards as a friend. As a player, you loved his quiet presence..I hope to touch the lives of my players the way he did.
